The philosophy behind TLC is to bring together the three elements of Touching, Learning and Caring in one place.

Touching is about both giving and receiving through various treatments be it Shiatsu, Reflexology or other types of complimentary therapies. We believe that through the medium of touch a strong connection is made between us all.

The Learning element is to give people the opportunity to learn with us with a view to becoming qualified practitioners in their own right. One night a week is given over to students for practical experience when treatments will be at a reduced rate.

Caring is the key aspect of TLC whether it is for our clients or students or practitioners. We hope that everyone will feel part of our community.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese Hands-On Bodywork. Its theory and techniques have developed alongside Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. Treatments involve the stimulation of the same channels and points as Acupuncture. Instead of using needles different finger pressure, massage and stretch techniques are used to stimulate change and energy flow where needed and return a person back to health. Shiatsu is received fully clothed, traditionally on a futon on the floor, here at TLC you also have the option of a Shiatsu Chair or Bench. Shiatsu helps restore vitality, relieve body and emotional stress, promote and maintain health and relieve a wide range of health issues: Back-Pain, Frozen Shoulders, Neck Pain, Headaches– Migraines, Repetitive Strain Cond.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the technique of treating a person through their hands and feet with gentle pressure applied to reflex points. A treatment brings about a feeling of deep relaxation while stimulating the body’s own healing processes. A treatment or a series of treatments can help boost vitality and the body’s natural immune system. Reflexology is a safe, natural therapy which can help to reduce the symptoms of a wide range of conditions such as hormonal imbalances and stress.
The initial treatment will take about an hour and subsequent ones about 45 minutes.
