Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to work in an exceptional neurological service based in the Gloucester area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers

This service is registered to care for people who suffer from neurological and spinal related disease or injury. People may have long-term physical and or cognitive impairment, which may not improve over time and which may also require long-term medical support

**You must hold a Diploma in SLT/Pathology + HCPC Registered**

As the Speech & Language Therapist your key responsibilities include:
• Be responsible for delivering a high standard of therapy input to individuals with complex neurological needs within a slow stream rehab setting. They must be confident treating residents individually and in groups
• Take clinical responsibility for the assessment, treatment and management of speech and language needs for patients with complex, traumatic, acquired or progressive and inherited neurological disorders. This includes palliative care as required
• Maintain resident documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards
• Contribute to the writing of clinical reports associated with relevant clinical reviews and case conferences ensuring effective communication and coordination of patient care
• Be an effective and active member within the multi-disciplinary working environment

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial of the role:
• Relevant post graduate experience
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal), with residents, visitors, and the wider multi-disciplinary team
• Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and protection of vulnerable adults
• RCSLT Accredited
• Experience of completing mental capacity assessments

The successful Speech & Language Therapist will receive an excellent salary up to £40,000 per annum. We currently have vacancies for both Full Time and Part Time opportunities available. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
